Homestay Program

Homestay is more than a place to stay. Being part of a family is always important, and our Homestay Program gives students the support of a local family and a place to call home.

The Homestay Program at ELTHAM is managed by us using an external accommodation service provider. The Homestay experience helps students adjust to the Australian lifestyle with suitable supervision. The family support encourages and enables students to safely acclimatise to western culture in preparation for study success at secondary and tertiary levels. It also enables international students to strengthen their English skills within a caring Australian family environment.

Our Homestay Officer, Franceen Challons, is an integral member of the International Team. Not only does she carefully advise on homestay placements and monitor our homestay families, she also acts as a daily mentor for the international students, encouraging regular contact with any students who may have problems, need assistance or just wish to chat.

Students must be at least 13 years of age to be eligible for a homestay placement.
